Alicja Bielawska (born 1980) studied History of Art at the University of Warsaw and Fine Arts at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam.

An author of drawings, sculptures, installations and poetry. The artist probes the interaction of everyday objects in relationship to their shape, surface and pattern and explores issues regarding memory and perception of the viewer.

She participated in many individual and collective exhibitions in Poland and abroad. Her solo shows include Soft Ground , Sodu4, Vilnius (2016), Line on a Walk, Akademie Schloss Solitude (2015), Adopted Shapes, Arsenal Gallery, Bialystok (2012), When Things Find Their Place, BWA, Zielona Gora (2013), The Revolutions of Things, Centre for Contemporary Art Ujazdowski Castle, Warsaw (2010). Bielawska was the Artist-in-Residence at Akademie Schloss Solitude, Germany (2014-15) and Nida Art Colony, Lithuania (2016).                                     She was nominated for VIEWS 2015 – Deutsche Bank Award, co-organized by Zachęta – National Gallery of Art, Poland (2015).

Currently, she lives and works in Warsaw.
